# Comment automations

> Automatically reply to, draft for, hide, assign, or delete comments on each connected page.

Comment automations tell Brandwise what to do with new comments on a page, like replying with AI, creating a draft for review, or assigning a teammate. Each page has its own automations.

## Set up an automation

1. Go to **AI Assistant > Automation** and choose **Socials**.
2. Pick a page in the sidebar.
3. Open the **Comments** tab.
4. On the card for the comments you want to automate, click **Add action** and choose an action.
5. Use the switch on the card to turn that card's automations on or off.

Changes save right away.

## Which comments each card covers

- **All Comments**: every comment on the page. Actions here also apply to the other cards and are marked **From all**.
- **Needs Reply Comments**: only comments the AI flags as needing a reply.
- **One card per Smart Label**: comments tagged with that [Smart Label](https://brandwise.ai/help/ai-knowledge-base/smart-labels).

All Comments and Needs Reply Comments only run on pages with **AI Moderation** turned on, because that check is what reads each comment. Smart Label cards run whenever a label matches.

## Actions

| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Auto Reply** | Sends an AI reply. Options: **Ads only**, and **Reply via DM** to answer privately. |
| **Auto Draft** | Writes an AI draft for your team to review |
| **Like Comment** | Likes the comment (Facebook only) |
| **Assign to team** | Assigns the comment to the teammate you choose |
| **Hide Comment** | Hides the comment |
| **Block Users** | Blocks the commenter (Facebook and Instagram) |
| **Mark as Read** | Marks the comment read |
| **Delete Comment** | Deletes the comment. Only runs when **Delete instead of hiding** is on in the page's settings. |

**Reply via DM** is available on the Needs Reply and Smart Label cards, and only works on Facebook and Instagram. See [Reply to a comment privately by DM](https://brandwise.ai/help/dms/reply-to-a-comment-by-dm).

## Rules that keep actions consistent

Brandwise blocks combinations that can't work together, and tells you why:

- **Auto Reply** and **Auto Draft** can't be on together.
- **Delete Comment** can't be combined with replying, drafting, liking, hiding, assigning, marking read, or blocking.
- **Hide Comment** and **Like Comment** can't be on together.
- If you use **Hide Comment** with **Auto Reply**, **Reply via DM** turns on automatically, since you can't reply publicly to a hidden comment.

> **Note:** Try **Auto Draft** first. You can review what the AI would say before switching to **Auto Reply**.

Every AI reply or draft uses AI credits. The low confidence fallback and reply delay apply to all pages and are covered in [Settings for all automations](https://brandwise.ai/help/ai-knowledge-base/automation-settings). To stop AI replies on a single post, use **Post settings > Disable AI reply** in the inbox.
