Customize the chat widget
Set the chat widget's logo, name, colors, greeting, suggested questions, and position on the page.
Make the chat widget look like part of your site. Your changes apply to every site the widget runs on.
Go to Settings > Live Chat and open the Appearance tab. A live preview next to the fields shows your changes as you make them. When you're done, click Save changes in the bar at the bottom, or Discard to undo.
Identity
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Logo | Shown in the chat window. Use a square PNG or JPEG, at least 256×256px and under 1MB. |
| Display name | The name at the top of the chat window. The default is "Support Team". |
| Theme | Light or Dark, whichever suits your site. |
| Accent color | Used on the chat button and on the visitor's own messages. |
What it says
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Greeting | Sent as soon as someone opens the chat. Put each message on its own line to send it as a separate bubble. |
| Suggested questions | Shown as buttons under the greeting, so a visitor can start without typing. One per line. Leave it empty for none. They disappear once the visitor sends a message. |
| Message box placeholder | The gray hint text in the box where visitors type. |
Where it sits
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Corner | Puts the chat button at the Bottom left or Bottom right of the page. |
| Distance from the edge | Moves the button away from the corner, in pixels, with separate Bottom and Side values (0 to 240). Use it to keep the button clear of a cookie bar or a back-to-top arrow. |
Tips
- Keep the greeting short. One or two lines works best on a phone.
- Write suggested questions the way customers ask them, like "Where is my order?" If you use AI replies, make sure your knowledge base can answer them.
