Connect WhatsApp

Connect a WhatsApp Business number to answer WhatsApp chats from Social Inbox > DMs, alongside Instagram and Facebook. WhatsApp brings in DMs only.

Before you start

• You need a WhatsApp Business number you can manage through Meta, and a Facebook login with access to it.
• You need access to Settings > Social Media in Brandwise.
• Allow pop-ups for Brandwise. Meta's setup opens in a new window.

Connect your number

1. Go to Settings > Social Media.
2. Click Connect a page.
3. Choose WhatsApp.
4. In the Meta window, sign in and follow the steps to pick your business and phone number.
5. Keep the Brandwise window open while it shows Connecting WhatsApp.
6. If Brandwise asks you to Register this WhatsApp number, enter the six-digit PIN and click Continue.

When it's done, you'll see "WhatsApp account connected successfully." and the number appears in your connected pages.

About the PIN

The PIN step only appears when the number still needs to be registered. It is the number's two-step verification PIN. Enter it within about 10 minutes, or you'll need to restart the signup.

After you connect

• New WhatsApp messages arrive in Social Inbox > DMs. Use the Page filter to see only WhatsApp.
• You can reply with text or attach one image, video, audio file, or document up to 5 MB.
• WhatsApp only allows free-form replies within 24 hours of the customer's last message. After that, the reply box is locked, and automatic replies are skipped.
• Automations for the number live under AI Assistant > Automation > Socials, on the Direct Messages tab. See DM automations.

Reconnect WhatsApp

If the number shows that it needs reconnecting, go to Settings > Social Media and click Reconnect on its row. This opens the Connect a page dialog. Choose WhatsApp and go through the Meta steps again with the same number.
